Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and Trump attorney, has responded via his attorney Robert Costello after the FBI raided his apartment on Wednesday morning.
“Giuliani’s lawyer, Bob Costello, claims the raid was “completely unnecessary” and that the only justification for it was to “make him (Rudy) look like a suspect.” Fox News reporter Marta Dhanis was quoted in a tweet by John Roberts.

Costello also dubbed the FBI raid “legal thuggery” in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. Costello also explained his perspective on the raid.
The Wall Street Journal wrote, “Mr. Costello said authorities arrived at Mr. Giuliani’s apartment at 6 a.m. and confiscated his electronic devices.” “The search warrant identifies the inquiry as a probe into a potential breach of international lobbying laws, according to Mr. Costello. The warrant, according to Mr. Costello, requested correspondence between Mr. Giuliani and individuals such as John Solomon, a columnist who was in contact with Mr. Giuliani regarding his efforts to have Joe Biden investigated in Ukraine.
In recent years, Giuliani’s lawyer said, “he had offered to address investigators’ questions if they agreed to tell what region they were looking at ahead of time,” according to the Jou.
“He said that they turned down the offer.”
He said, “It’s like I’m talking to a brick wall.”

The Wall Street Journal delves further into what the FBI was looking for, and it appears to be retaliation for the president’s son Hunter Biden’s investigation.
The search warrant sought correspondence between Giuliani and others, including conservative columnist John Solomon, as part of the investigation into alleged violations of foreign lobbying laws, according to Costello.
The FBI searched the former mayor’s flat, according to the New York Times.
According to the New York Times, “federal prosecutors in Manhattan served a search warrant on Wednesday at the Upper East Side apartment of Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who went on to become President Donald J. Trump’s personal lawyer, stepping up a criminal investigation into Mr. Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine.”
The Times added, “One of the people said the investigators had confiscated Mr. Giuliani’s electronic devices.” According to the paper, the raid is linked to Giuliani’s investigation to “unearth damaging details about Mr. Biden and his son Hunter.” The article was confirmed by the Associated Press.
